Manfred Berger

Manfred Berger oversees storage platforms business development at Western Digital, in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India. Manfred has over 41 years of experience in the storage industry and is an acknowledged expert in all matters related to storage technology. Previous job roles include test engineering, customer technical support, product marketing, business development, business unit management and product strategy.

Twenty-two years of Manfred’s career were spent at IBM in Germany and in the US in various engineering roles, providing him with broad background knowledge in a variety of engineering fields and applications. Ten years have been with Hitachi Global Storage Technologies after IBM and Hitachi merged their HDD businesses under Hitachi ownership. Hitachi GST has been acquired by Western Digital Corporation in 2012.

Manfred has an engineering degree in Communication Electronics and a Master’s in Business Administration with an emphasis on innovation, change management and marketing.
