Experts project that the technology industry is on pace to exceed $5.3 trillion in 2022 (source: IDC). Thierry Carrez will discuss where the cloud market, and specifically the cloud market in the Middle East, sits within this multi-trillion dollar industry and how the OpenInfra Foundation is assembling open source communities backed by a growing group of organizations. Together they are building new open source communities to address emerging open infrastructure demands including confidential computing digital sovereignty DPUs ESI and security. He will also discuss how the global community is guided by the OpenInfra Way supported by the Four Opens and Three Forces the OpenInfra Foundation supports diverse and growing open source project communities including OpenStack, Kata Containers, Zuul, Airship, OpenInfra Labs, and StarlingX.

Facing the Next Computing Challenges at CERN Private Cloud

Since the deployment of the CERN private cloud entered production in July 2013, the cloud team is upgrading it, scaling it and adapting it to cover our researchers' dynamic computing needs. In order to meet those, we need to be more adaptable and flexible than ever. We'll show how we are pushing the setup into the next level while adding a new datacentre in the meantime. Finally, we'll illustrate the introduction of heterogeneous computing and software defined networks that will contribute into meet future needs of the organization.
